5 Brilliant UK Vegan Cafes to Munch at as Featured on Happy Cow!

It takes a lot of effort to find vegan options in most places to eat. Over the past 5 years, us vegans have been blessed with an escalation of vegan restaurants, and especially vegan cafes. Now that indoor eating is open again in the UK, you can finally go out and have a meal with friends and family. Why not make it a planet-friendly vegan meal courtesy of these superb UK vegan eateries?

I have carefully chosen cafes which I have either been to myself, or which my close friends highly recommend. These cafes are also spread far across the UK so that you will likely be close to at least one. So without further ado, follow on for 5 Brilliant, UK Vegan Cafes to Munch at, as Featured on Happy Cow! (Image credit: Happy Cow)

Happy Cow was founded in 1999 as a public service to assist travellers and people everywhere find plant-based / vegan options and healthy food. They are vegan-run, from a vegan perspective, and staffed by vegans and vegetarians.

1. Jaunty Goat – Chester

This place is great to pop in for breakfast or for a light lunch; the interior is comfortable and homey. The menu offers delicious vegan pancakes and my personal favourite, their avocado toast.

They also offer a range of vegan milks for their coffees; the oat milk mocha is my choice! You can definitely bring a non-vegan here without any complaints from them – their ‘chicken and bacon’ vegan sandwich is one of the best I’ve had.

2. Eden Café – Witney

The Eden café actually started as a food truck years ago, but by 2019 the owners had built up to a fully vegan indoor café.

What makes this café special is the colourfulness of their dishes, get ready to post lots of pictures on Instagram if you go here! Of course, the food is delicious too; the cake selection is outstanding so pop in for afternoon coffee and cake!

3. TRIBE – London

This vegan café in South-West London features a juice bar! I’ve heard that this spot is a great atmosphere to stop in to get some work done with a nice drink, and maybe a light lunch or breakfast too. Their French toast is unbeatable according to one of my London friends!

4. The Longhouse Café – Brighton

If you find yourself in the unique place that is Brighton, you have to try the Longhouse Cafe. This café is located on Brighton high street, and is only a 15-minute walk from the sea! Unfortunately this place isn’t open for dine-in just yet, but you can get a take out of their full vegan breakfast or buckwheat pancakes and eat along with a dazzling sea-view!

5. Vegan Munch – Birmingham

Vegan Munch in Birmingham is perfect for vegans missing fast food. This place offers plant-based kebabs, shawarmas and also juicy burgers! Their nachos box is a personal favourite! Don’t forget to have dessert here, they often have a selection of cakes in for you.

Dining out as a vegan doesn’t have to be difficult anymore, and new vegan places will just keep emerging as long as we keep up the vegan spirit and wish to eat at these marvellous eateries. So, get yourself out to one of these 5 cafes featured on Happy Cow, and let us know what you think about them in the comments below and join in the conversation on FacebookTwitter & Instagram!
