MEGAWEIGHT BOXING: Thor Björnsson defeats Eddie Hall

ICYMI…On Saturday night, the long-awaited boxing match between strongmen Eddie “The Beast” Hall and Thor Bjornsson took place in Dubai’s Duty Free Tennis Centre.

Eddie “The Beast” Hall and Hafthor “Thor” Bjornsson had a continual feud since their competitive Strongman days and the time had arrived for them to settle their rivalry via this grudge match.

Iceland’s Thor was looking leaner and meaner and had definitely been working hard in preparation for titanic-level boxing match. He even had 3 exhibition matches against pro boxers Simon Vallily and Steven Ward. Being a few inches taller than his rival, everyone felt his reach advantage would play a major factor in the Jurassic-sized clash.

Britain’s Eddie “The Beast” Hall appeared to be in the best shape of his life here, and was definitely pumped, psyched and ready for Saturday’s fight. He shared a few of his training sessions online, demonstrating the force of his high-impact blows and praiseworthy agility.

The fighters looked rearing to go as they stepped into the ring, both of them feeling confident of a victory over their opponent. Hall displayed his powerful punches early in the match and knocked the huge Icelandic former Strongman down in the second round.

However, Bjornsson recovered and floored Hall in the third and sixth rounds of the boxing match. Neither man was willing to back down in the fight and they showed lots of determination despite looking fatigued by the end of the six rounds.

The three judges declared Thor as the winner of the bout, scoring the fight 57-54.
