W.O.D Welder is a company that designs and sells skin care and health products for athletes. They recently sent us one of their products, specifically designed to eradicate smells and nasty odors (or “DQ the stink”) to try. Appropriately named the Odor Crusher, the product is an antibacterial and antimicrobial spray containing peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils. We gave it a solid real-world test, so read on below to find out whether the W.O.D. Welder: Odor Crusher Spray was effective or not…
Packaging:
The colourful labelling on the bottle is attractive and eye catching. The “workout of the day” logo makes it obvious that the product is aimed at the sports community. Details of the product’s ingredients are listed on the back too.
The Odor Crusher bottle stands approximately ten inches (25cm) high and its contents measure in at a very precise 783.7ml. It’s lightweight and is designed to fit comfortably into any size of hand.
Performance:
As someone who trains regularly I certainly had no shortage of gym attire to test the Odor Crusher on.
My gym shoes were my first target. Having endured hundreds of workouts they’re hardly going to be the freshest smelling of gym wear, are they! Amazingly, it only took two or three sprays of the Odor Crusher to quickly obliterate the smell. Next up, another item which tends to get really smelly over time, neoprene sleeves. Once again, the spray quickly counteracted and diminished the scent and my sleeves were actually pleasant-smelling until my next workout.
Okay, so, the Odor Crusher was an immediate success applied on smaller items, but how about the bigger ones? I got a little more curious.
Following the suggestion on the bottle I tested it on my gym bag. The lingering odours of spilt protein drinks were replaced by an appealing peppermint fragrance. I knew my car, which was well overdue a clean, would be a good place to try it as well. Spraying it on the seats and in the boot (or ‘trunk’ as they say in the US) made it feel as though my car was brand new again.
Even with liberal use, the contents of the bottle lasted a good long while. And it’s not just limited to using on gym stuff either. I sprayed it on my carpets, curtains and couches, and it really freshened up my home. I was pleased when the guests I’d had over for coffee complimented me on the scent in my living room!
Value:
Its price of £13.99 is very reasonable considering that the bottle lasts a good couple of months’ of regular use. The W.O.D. Welder company also offer a smaller (274ml) bottle in their range.
Summary:
The Odor Crusher proved to be effective in tackling unpleasant smells. One of the things I especially like about the spray is that it isn’t loaded full of chemicals, and this gives it a decidedly pleasant, natural aroma. In our fast-paced lives where we don’t always have time to wash all our gear and fabrics, the Odor Crusher can be a fantastic way to quickly freshen up anything that needs it. A decent and practical hack – recommended!
