GIANT Health has officially launched the Innovative Medical Research Programme as part of the GIANT Health Event 2021 held on November 30 – December 1, 2021. The programme is an inaugural event in the annual conference dedicated to promoting innovative research and the people behind them in the field of medical technology. Find out more below!
Professor Shafi Ahmed, the noted futurist and multi-award-winning cancer surgeon working at The Royal London Hospital, will give the welcoming address at the event.
Professor Ahmed said, “For more than 18 months since the start of the pandemic, there has been a decreasing number of opportunities for people to present their work through gatherings, conferences and exhibitions. GIANT Health is aiming to lead the way to help reopen society. We aim to celebrate the incredible work carried out by healthcare workers, students and academics across Europe and beyond.”
GIANT Health decided to launch the new programme because it fits with GIANT Health’s mission to improve the health and well-being of people around the world by promoting healthcare innovation. Barry Shrier, GIANT Health founder, said, “The GIANT Health Event 2021 is the ideal opportunity for academics and students of leading institutions to present the amazing research they have been doing over the last few years and their careers. They will be able to network with leaders of the medical technology industry, as well as a wide variety of healthcare companies.”

The GIANT Health Innovative Medical Research Programme will be held on Wednesday, December 1, as part of a series of virtual and hybrid events. We invite all of our scientific-minded delegates, including medical students and doctors, to submit a maximum of two 250-word abstracts based on their research conducted in this field. If your research is one of the top-scoring abstracts by a panel comprised of healthcare and health-tech leaders, you will be offered the unique opportunity to present in front of our expert audience at the GIANT Health Event 2021, with a further chance of winning a selection of prizes.
