But there are also scenes in films that particularly inspire us – moments of triumph over adversity, where good beats evil or a character realises their own strength. With that said, here are ten powerful movie scenes (well-loved Rocky montages aside) that are sure to leave you feeling pumped and psyched up and ready to seize your own heroic moments. From the movie of an enduring iconic superhero, this scene brings together intense fight choreography and a killer soundtrack for an overall epic action sequence that stirs the Amazonian Warrior within each of us.

2. Coach Carter (2005) – Not Your Storybook Ending

In this scene, the Richmond basketball team have just lost the state championship game but coach Carter reminds them that they have achieved something far more important: inner victory. This film (based on a true story) is an important reminder of the wealth of personal development and recognising your own successes, rather than focusing on how well others do.

3. Spider-Man into the Spider Verse (2018) – Leap of Faith

In a film of stunning animated visuals, this scene contains the moment where the audience held their breath at the image of Miles free falling as he leaves behind self-doubt, and demonstrates that he has what it takes to claim the title of the superhero, Spider-Man.

4. The Greatest Showman (2017) This Is Me

Now this song, combined with the choreography and acting, is a celebration of diversity and self love. It reminds us to be unapologetically ourselves and not let the opinions of others control us.

5. Avengers: Endgame (2019) – Captain America lifts Thor’s Hammer Mjolnir

It’s the moment that all Marvel fans had forgotten they were waiting for but had them screaming in the theatres when it did. Just an awesome superhero scene that excites every time.

6. Unbroken (2014) – Lifting the Beam

This is an incredible film based on a true story which simply isn’t talked about enough. After surviving 47 days on a raft at sea and a series of Japanese war camps, Louis Zamperini continues to defy Corporal Watanabe’s efforts to break him in this awe-inspiring scene.

7. Bend It Like Beckham (2002) – The Winning Goal

8. Forrest Gump (1994) – Run, Forrest, Run!

This iconic film just had to make the list. This moment is just one example, if the most quotable, of Forrest’s accomplishments showcasing that you should never underestimate what you are capable of.

9. The King’s Speech (2010) – I Have a Voice

Not only is this scene about self-empowerment and overcoming adversity but also the self-belief you can feel when friends support and push you towards it.

10. Avengers: Endgame (2019) – Avengers Assemble

One of the greatest moments of cinematic history which just speaks for itself. The Avengers finally assemble, and it is truly triumphant.
