Nutrition: This tea is extremely healthy as it is made entirely from pure green tea leaves as well as being sugar, gluten and soy-free. It also contains more antioxidants than goji berries and acai and has no artificial additives or flavours.
Taste: I have to say I do like a cuppa and for me I enjoyed experimenting with this tea. The first thing I noticed when I tasted it was how raw and wholesome the matcha actually tasted. You could immediately establish that there were very few ingredients present. The taste itself was very strong, maybe even a bit too intense but it was full-bodied and refreshing leaving a lingering taste of goodness in my mouth. For someone who adds milk to their tea this might well take some getting used to but it did taste undeniably rich and pure.
Value: This product retails on Vigor Mundi online for £19.99 for a packet of 100g. Whilst this is a fair amount of money for tea as there are many other products on the market, this is probably the healthiest you will drink. You’ve just got to decide if you’re willing to spend more for that luxury. In addition, you can turn this into a fascinating ritual if you purchase The Chasen bamboo whisk which is a specially handmade whisk for the tea. It costs £11.99 but considering these whisks cannot be made by machines, only by skilled craftsman it may well serve to heighten your sense of appreciation, culture and respect surrounding this premium product.
Summary: Overall I enjoyed whisking my own tea as I felt I improved on the experience by getting involved myself. The taste itself is really poignant, grounded with good hearty, silky tones and will certainly get your energy levels and awareness elevated for the day.
