There are many religious figures currently and they all have something to offer the world. Some are inspirational and some are enlightening. Not everyone believes in what they preach and outside of places they worship their saviors, they certainly do not practice it.
Born April 20th, 1954, in Nassau, Bahamas, Myles Munroe had the many characteristics of a transformational leader including wisdom, honesty, and a strong faith in Jesus Christ. That is why I find his biblical-focused videos insightful. When he preached the word of God, he did so with such engaging charisma and he commanded an audience like the best of them.

1. Understanding God’s Priority & Primary Interest
Dr. Munroe has given us a thought-provoking video about priorities. The primary priority he speaks about is seeking the kingdom of God. “Seek ye first” is a quote Munroe uses to bring this point home. One should make their first priority reading the Bible and consuming the word as daily nourishment and not as cake for occasional celebration as a wise man once told me. Why is priority a priority?
Dr. Munroe answers this by stating that one of the greatest gifts of God given to mankind is the gift of time. This is why he suggests that we read the Bible and use the currency of life to build a relationship with God.
Everything we have in life is what we have bought with the time God has given us, whether good or bad. Preoccupation with priority protects our currency and it gives us the privilege of focusing on the most valuable aspects of life.
The most valuable aspects of life are the love of God, time, family, happiness, friendship, and peace. All of these offer us the opportunity to have a worry-free mind because focusing on what matters most keeps us close to God.
2. Being Baptized in The Holy Spirit
To understand the holy spirit, one must go to the beginning to understand God. Once they understand God as he is known in the Bible, they will begin to realize that the father, the son, and The Holy Spirit are one God and three persons.
The Holy Spirit does nothing unless Jesus moves and Jesus does nothing unless God moves or speaks. They are always connected. Dr. Munroe explains that humans are made in the image of the holy trinity by explaining how we begin to feel, think, and move.
First, our spirit decides that we must be doing something in the moment, then the thought comes to mind and the mind sends a signal to our muscles and we must agree to do what we just thought about. It explains how God is in complete control of the entire world and that he allows us to live because he lives through us.
The Holy Spirit may be the most misunderstood member of The Holy Trinity because it was created out of the spirit of God and only believers know God.
Baptism in The Holy Spirit is the proof of the gospel and once The Holy Spirit comes unto man, he is capable of laying hands on the sick, preaching the kingdom and casting out demons. God’s spirit gave life to man and the soul of man will respond to the inclinations of the spirit. “The Holy Spirit is the power of God”.
3. The Discipline of Vision
“Vision is the ability to literally see the invisible in order to make it possible.” Dr. Myles Munroe is a God-fearing man who believes in the power of God’s vision which he has instilled in us.
God gives us visions in phases so that we can process the information in full and not rush to realize a vision. Vision is the key to success, faithful living, and the future of humanity.
Had there not been figures in biblical history who had received one or multiple visions from God, then humanity would not have survived as long as it has today. Vision includes understanding of what will come and making an educated guess, but when God personally delivers visions to human beings, they can be used to predict the future.
The insight that comes with vision is wisdom that brings us hope and understanding of our destiny. There are limits to a man’s vision because the only individual who can do everything including what is beyond possible in the Earthly realm and this universe is God and there are no exceptions.
Dr. Myles Munroe’s most powerful quote from the video is “where there is no vision the people perish”. Our government leaders must have vision because they are the key to maintaining order here on Earth. If our leaders do not have vision, then they cannot enforce laws and there may be a chaotic state of nature because no one will have discipline. A great leader is a leader with discipline and discipline is a byproduct of clear vision.
4. Why Speak in Tongues
They that believe shall speak in the tongue of The Holy Spirit. One must become drunk with the spirit and they will overflow with the spirit in tongues. In Acts, chapter 2 the Bible mentions “and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire and it sat upon each of them and they were all filled with The Holy Ghost.”
An analogy for how speaking in tongues works is the water system that exists in developed nations. When we turn on the water in the kitchen and turn the spigot to the right or left, water will come out. Water comes out because there is pressure in the pipes in different communities.
Water is always in the pipes and there is also always water in the water tanks in different locations in developed nations that delivers water to the pipes.
When one is filled with The Holy Ghost, they will always have a reserve of the spirit in them that flows out through the tongues. One must release pressure that is built up by speaking in tongues and preaching the gospel of Jesus to those who would hear it.
Dr. Munroe states that the first thing God touched when The Holy Spirit came was the tongue of man because it was the most easily accessible form of expression. His gift to us would also make the tongue less wicked even though it cannot be tamed by man because The Holy Spirit comes out in abundance when one is touched by it.
5. Rediscovering the Prayer Template of Jesus
The prayer template of Jesus is “always bring the community with you”. “Always bring the community with you” means that whenever we are flourishing as a country, we should ensure that everyone in the country is flourishing. It applies to individuals as well though and it means that when we enjoy prosperity, we should help those in need and spread the prosperity around so that we allow everyone to prosper.
Thinking like this means that there should not be people who are hungry, homeless, thirsty, or jobless. Unfortunately civilization in general has not stayed true to the prayer template of Jesus.
We get back to the prayer template of Jesus by petitioning to our government that we are treated justly and to the father that he forgive us our sins.
The proper way to pray according to Dr. Myles Munroe which I translated to the KJV of the Bible as “Our father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen”.
Jesus Christ will show us those individuals who are instrumental in our lives. Myles Munroe preached the word of God and he was a leader in the Bahamian community. Many people would show up to his sermons and listen for the word of God and how Dr. Munroe interpreted the Bible according to the Kingdom of heaven.
Myles gave qualitative sermons, wrote books for his church and others and has impacted the lives of many. Before he passed on November 9, 2014, he was the head of the Bahamas Faith Ministries International (BFMI), Myles Munroe International (MMI). The International Third World Leaders Association, and the International Leadership Training Institute. He is truly missed by many and his legacy will live on through his global ministry, recordings, loved ones and all those he touched. May he continue to be in peace.
