DMoose: Adjustable Bicep & Arm Blaster

Arm blasters have been around a while in bodybuilding, first appearing back in the 1970s. Some of our readers may remember pictures of bodybuilding legends like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Robby Robinson using them to build their huge upper arms.

Keep Fit Kingdom had the opportunity to try out a modern-day arm blaster made by the relatively new fitness company DMoose. How good is it though? Follow on for our review to find out…!

Design

The main body of the Arm Blaster is made of reinforced aluminium for durability, and it can handle weight loads of up to 600lbs.

The company’s distinct logo is positioned right in the centre of the product. At each end of the Arm Blaster, there is a firmly secured non-slip elbow pad for comfort while training.

The neck strap is securely attached to its body with strong rivets. A large neoprene neck pad is connected to the strap, and its sturdy buckle can be used to adjust the length of the strap. There is a nice selection of colours available for the Arm Blaster, including black, blue, and an attractive American design for the patriots among us.

The length and width of the Arm Blaster are 24 inches and 3.5 inches respectively. The thickness of the product is 0.2 inches. For plenty of adjustability to suit different torso sizes, the belt is 47 inches long. According to the company’s website, the shipping weight of the product is 2lbs.

Performance

Just like many other people who train with weights, arm training ranks highly in my list of favourite body parts to train. So, receiving a DMoose Arm Blaster was a moment I’d been looking forward to.

It’d been at least twenty years since I’d last used any type of arm blaster and I’d forgotten what it feels like to use one. I was keen to put it to the test.

The Arm Blaster is Easy to Use

Having my own gym at home meant I could check out the Arm Blaster straight away. It’s incredibly easy-to-use; simply place the strap over your neck and position the aluminium body under your chest.

A little bit of trial and error is necessary to find the best position, and the easy to open/close buckle makes adjustment straightforward.

I did a few sets of dumbbell curls to start off and the Arm Blaster ensured I targeted my biceps effectively. It was nigh on impossible to cheat on any reps, and the last rep of each set was almost as strict as the first. Afterwards, two or three sets of hammer curls with the Arm Blaster was all it took to fry my forearms.

Lightweight yet Strong, Easy to Take in Your Gym Bag

Naturally, after trying out the Arm Blaster at home, I wanted to test it out at the gym. It comfortably fits into my gym bag and its light weight build made it ultra easy to transport to the gym.

You can also Develop Your Triceps with Focused Pushdowns

I can confidently say that I’ve never used an arm blaster on tricep pushdowns, so I was surprised at how good it was when I opted to try it first on this popular exercise. My elbows being firmly locked into the DMoose Arm Blaster enabled me to effectively blast my triceps, resulting in an upper arm that suddenly looked much bigger.

Surely enough, this has quickly become my favourite exercise this year so far! The product was perfectly stable when I next performed some heavier cable curls, and the skin-bursting pump I got was highly satisfying. High rep reverse cable curls were a real treat while wearing the Arm Blaster too.

Does an Excellent Job of Isolating Your Arm Muscles with Comfortable Padding

Over a few sessions I tried out a few different techniques in my training with the Arm Blaster: one and a half reps, blood flow restriction, and supersets.

Each time, the product did an excellent job of isolating the arm muscles I was training. I was particularly impressed at how comfortable the padding was on the elbows, especially after I’d performed lots of sets in a workout. I reckon a few more sessions with the this piece of kit will give me some of the arm size gains that I have been after.

Value

The prices for the Arm Blaster start from around $32 (£22.99) and go up to slightly over $55 (£40) for the colourful American design. As the product is tough and durable and should last for years, the cost is surprisingly low. It can be purchased from Amazon and DMoose’s own website.

Summary

DMoose has created an Arm Blaster that is well worth buying. It’s a great, quality piece of equipment and it’s sure to aid you in your pursuit of building muscular arms. With a good range of colours available however, you just might be tempted to buy more than just one…!
