5 Top Vegan Pizzas!

As veganism is exploding in popularity, so are an abundance of fun and delicious vegan re-creations of the nation’s favourite foods, even pizza! Vegan pizza is a healthier twist on the classic meat and dairy loaded dish, boasting half the calories but double the fun, nutrition and flavour…Who’s up for a tasty vegan pizza then? If you love pizza as much as I do, you’ll want to read on up on these 5 Top Vegan Pizzas that are sure to get your mouth watering!

1. Avocado island (aka healthy fat) pizza
Uses mashed avocado as the base spread instead of tomato puree. I suggest topping with some crunchy kale, sweetcorn, cherry tomatoes and pineapple chunks!

2. Classic Margarita pizza
Uses the classic tomato puree for the base spread. Grate and sprinkle your favourite vegan cheese (I recommend VioLife).

3. Summer BBQ pizza
Uses a spicy BBQ sauce for the base spread. Top with sautéed veggies, such as peppers, sweetcorn, onion, kale, zucchini and squash.

4. Superfood pizza
Is this the world’s most nutritious pizza? Tomato puree for the base, topped with nutritional yeast, kale or spinach, peppers, sweet potato, asparagus and mushrooms.

5. Apple pie pizza
Got to love a dessert pizza! Simply bake together a mixture of chopped apples, maple syrup, dried fruit and cinnamon and slather on top of your base – simply gorgeous.

Prior to adopting a vegan diet one of my all-time favourite foods was pizza, although as a health-nut I always felt guilty eating something so high in fat, calories and with little nutritional value or sense.

Now it brings me a great deal of happiness to say that even following a vegan diet has not stopped me from eating pizza. This is because the vegan pizzas I make are always loaded with nutrients as well as flavour from my favourite fruits and veggies. I now eat pizza more frequently than ever and never feel guilty, try some yourself and see (and taste) how good it feels!
