5 Top Reasons To Eat Organic!

Organic has been a buzzword over the past few years and organic products are popping up all over the place, however there is more to think about than just eating something that is labelled as ‘organic’. Read on for 5 Top Reasons To Eat Organic!

Organic doesn’t necessarily mean healthy, it just means it has been created naturally without the aid of chemical fertilizers, pesticides or other artificial chemicals. If you’re starting to think about choosing organic options then it means you’re starting to think about what you are putting into your body. This is the most important part of the puzzle; is what you are putting into your body actually going to nourish and give you energy or labour your body with having to get rid of it?

A good thing to start doing before you eat anything is to see if you can find out where it has been grown or made. You will find that the less fresh the item is, the more ingredients it will have and it’s very hard to track down where the individual ingredients have come from.

When choosing to eat more organic, your choices of what you eat will naturally start to become healthier because a high proportion of organic food is whole food. So here follow 5 reasons why you should start choosing organic options:

1. Be chemical free!
There are so many chemicals used in making our food that we can’t even see them and it doesn’t have to be listed on the packaging. Why are we trusting all these companies making pre-packaged food? Ask yourself of their motives; your personal health or their back pocket?

2. You will actually be nourishing your body!
Some healthy non-organic foods you eat now are losing all their ability to aid your body as your body is having to deal with the influx of chemicals it receives from them.

3. Preserve our ecosystems!
Are you thinking about what all those chemicals and pesticides do to your body? Well what do you reckon they also do to all the animals and surroundings around them? (Consider supporting biodiversity.)

4. It will become normal and acceptable!
The more people that start to choose organic, the more accepted it will become in all areas of life. Costs will go down, awareness will be raised, we will all become healthier beings and so will the next generations be, without the hassles and ails we’ve had to endure!

5. It will become cheaper!
The more people that eat organic means that other companies will have to start offering it which means the cost comes down. Supply and demand in non-organic products fall, which means their consumption, will decrease.

Even if you can’t afford to go fully organic, a good start is to make your own food so that you at least know it’s fresh and without preservative nasties. Start eating more whole foods that haven’t been tampered with and be more conscious about what you put into your body -since you are what you eat!
